Research Scholar in Physical Oceanography at CSIR-NIO, Goa
Sohan Pal Meena is a dedicated research scholar specializing in Physical Oceanography at the CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography (CSIR-NIO), Goa, India. His research primarily delves into understanding the intricate physical processes governing ocean dynamics and their broader implications for the environment and climate systems. His work emphasizes the integration of advanced data analysis methodologies and numerical modeling to unravel the complexities of ocean-atmosphere interactions. Sohan holds a B.Sc. (Honors) in Electronics Sciences from the prestigious University of Delhi, India, and an M.Sc. in Atmospheric Science from the Central University of Rajasthan, Ajmer, India. His academic and research trajectory reflects a strong foundation in multidisciplinary scientific domains, particularly in Ocean-Atmospheric Sciences and predictive modeling. His current research interests encompass a wide spectrum of oceanographic phenomena, including the study of ocean circulation patterns, thermohaline processes, and their coupling with atmospheric dynamics. Utilizing state-of-the-art tools such as numerical models, remote sensing, and in situ data, Sohan aims to provide actionable insights into oceanographic changes and their environmental consequences. In addition to his core research, Sohan has a profound interest in leveraging computational techniques and machine learning algorithms to enhance data assimilation and forecasting capabilities in physical oceanography. His goal is to contribute to sustainable marine resource management and climate change mitigation efforts by advancing our understanding of oceanic systems through innovative and data-driven approaches..
